Coaching Assistant

Matthew Mandy

Job Title: Coaching Assistant - Assistant MS Boys A Basketball Coach

How long have you been at Beaver?

26-27 is my 3rd year.

Hometown: Sandwich, MA

Why athletics?

Growing up, team sports played a significant role in shaping who I am today. My childhood was not always easy, and sports provided me with a sense of structure, belonging, and support while teaching me valuable lessons. Those experiences ultimately inspired me to pursue a career in athletics, where I can be the mentor I once needed and provide students with the guidance, encouragement, and support to grow into confident and responsible individuals. Being able to positively impact students both on and off the playing field is what makes this work so meaningful to me.

What do you love about Beaver?

Having the opportunity to grow as a professional in many different ways, Alex (Gould) gives agency in all of us and I couldn't be more grateful and lucky to be at a place that encourages stepping out of your comfort zone and trying new things.

Favorite part of the job?

Witnessing our student-athletes grow through their own hard work, dedication, and perseverance, while knowing I have played a small role in their success. Equally meaningful is the opportunity to build genuine, lasting relationships with students and support them throughout their athletic and personal development.
